Home energy saving devices

The new generation of devices can help significantly reduce electricity consumption in the home. Of course, it is unthinkable to immediately replace all existing appliances with energy-saving ones, but even the gradual replacement of obsolete or obsolete equipment can help improve the parameters of energy consumption in the house.

Energy saving devices

Refrigerators

energy-saving refrigerators

The first energy efficient appliances we are looking at can save a lot of money by reducing energy consumption in the home. After all, these devices work day and night, so it is better to choose them carefully. These are refrigerators. Technological innovations of almost all manufacturers are inverter motors. They are very quiet and allow you to regulate the power consumption of the device, avoiding consumption peaks. By maintaining a constant and even temperature, it was possible to optimize energy consumption and increase the efficiency of the cooler.
Several manufacturers have developed technology that can help you better preserve food by differentiating ventilation in different compartments. The release of active oxygen in modern models prevents the formation of bacteria. Energy-saving refrigerators produced by the South Korean company, in turn, use insulation boards more efficiently. They are much thinner than the materials used just a few years ago. This means that modern refrigerators have become more energy efficient. More space for food, but less energy consumption for its cooling. Recently, American researchers have therefore ranked refrigerators in leading positions in the ranking of energy savings. These energy-saving devices consume the same as a 20W lamp. This result has been achieved thanks to efficient insulation, seals, new variable speed compressors and, again, the shape and position of the evaporators and condensers.

The results of other studies conducted in the US can convince even the most hesitant to change the refrigerator. In 12 years after buying a new model, the reduction in energy costs compared to the old device can be several hundred dollars. The most energy efficient models are those with a freezer on top of the refrigerator. At the same time, side-by-side refrigerators have the worst energy efficiency indicators.

Dishwashers

From a technological point of view, modern dishwashers not only consume less energy, but also much less water, and adjustable baskets allow you to optimize the load. German manufacturers also use the properties of natural zeolite, a mineral that absorbs moisture during washing and releases it as steam during drying, making the last step of the cycle faster and more efficient.

Washing machines

Modern washing machines offer different washing cycles to reduce water and detergent consumption. Extensive research has shown that the cleaning process does not depend on the temperature of the water and the detergent used, but is a consequence of the mechanical action of the drum. In this sense, new solutions have emerged, for example, washing machines developed by the company introduce air bubbles into the drum, which allows the detergent to penetrate better into fabrics and wash well even in cold water.

Induction cookers

Induction hobs are becoming increasingly popular, even among energy-saving device lines. They cook food by creating an electromagnetic field that heats only the bottom of the dishes. As a result, there is no loss of energy. You save money, since the efficiency of these devices reaches 95%, while with conventional gas stoves there are leaks of 30-60%.

Vacuum cleaners

How to turn cotton wool into useful work of a vacuum cleaner? Not much if the vacuum system is not efficient. The only thing you can conclude by looking at the watts listed on the energy label is energy absorption. But what if all that energy is used inefficiently? New energy-saving devices provide good guarantees. Vacuum cleaner models with cyclone technology have the advantage of not having a dust bag. The suction power remains unchanged, which benefits the energy efficiency of the device.

Energy efficiency label

Once you are convinced that the devices can help save energy in the house, it remains only to choose the right model. The offer is many, and navigation is not so easy. The first thing to do is to pay attention to the energy efficiency label, which gives a clear idea of energy consumption.

The horizontal arrows at the top indicate the energy efficiency class, which can range from A +++ (best) to G (worst). The color of the arrows also indicates the degree of energy efficiency of the equipment: from red for high energy consumption classes to dark green for the most energy efficient devices. The arrows show the energy consumption in kWh per year based on laboratory tests, ie in optimal conditions. Knowing the price of electricity, you can easily determine the annual cost of electricity, which obviously depends on how you use the device.
